There are conditions that may initially present with skin abnormalities such as hair loss, dandruff, itchy skin or a "funny-looking" rash; but in reality are symptoms of an autoimmune disease, endocrine problem or even an internal cancer.
Being a dermatologist has similarities to being a detective. Both involve recognizing and synthesizing clues in a cohesive way that results in solving a puzzle. For Dr. Wong, the most gratifying part of this process is being able to improve a patient's health and make a difference in quality of life.
