Some patients prefer to numb the treatment area with an anesthetic cream before the injections to minimize discomfort. Anesthetic solution is also added to the Sculptra®. Swelling and bruising are possible for a few days following the procedure, but most patients do not require any downtime. Make-up can be applied immediately. Results are not immediate, and optimal results typically require several treatments spaced approximately four to six weeks apart. Improvement appears gradually, usually within six weeks of the initial treatment, but your more youthful look can last for up to two years.
