Enhance Your Features With Our Skin Treatments
Not all lines and wrinkles that appear on the face are due to aging or sun damage. Wrinkles that appear around the eyes (crows’ feet), in between the eyebrows (frown lines), chin pitting or dimpling, horizontal forehead creases (worry lines) are due to hyperactive facial muscles. Individuals who have very animated faces are more prone to develop such lines. With time, the repetitive contraction of these muscles causes permanent lines to develop, similar to creasing a sheet of paper repeatedly.
The treatment of choice to soften or erase these lines is to inject a small amount of a protein solution called botulinum toxin A, which binds to neural receptors, blocking activation of overactive muscles. This results in muscles not squeezing the skin so strongly, allowing facial lines to soften or disappear. The amount of protein injected can be tailored to obtain your desired effect. Some individuals prefer to maintain some facial movement and others prefer to have no movement at all in these areas. Lines which do not completely efface with neuromodulators may need tissue filler as well.
Aesthetic studies show a substantial number of individuals in their twenties and early thirties develop facial lines at rest. Neuromodulator injections are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments among today’s millennial. This a minimally invasive procedure for erasing facial lines or one that can be implemented as a proactive strategy.
CoolSculpting® is an FDA approved procedure that uses fat freezing patented technology known as cryolipolysis to safely and effectively remove unwanted fat without surgery or downtime. It targets stubborn fat areas, i.e. pockets of fat underneath the skin that are resistant to diet and exercise. The ideal candidate for Coolsculpting® is someone who is near ideal body weight, follows a healthy diet and exercises regularly but is unable to reduce fat in one or more of the 9 FDA approved treatment areas: fat bulges under the chin, jawline, thighs, flanks, (love handles), stomach, bra fat, upper arms, areas beneath buttocks (banana rolls). Please be advised that CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss treatment.
How does CoolSculpting® Work?
Fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than skin and muscle. CoolSculpting® safely delivers precisely controlled cooling to gently and effectively target the fat cells underneath the skin.
You Can Reshape Your Body!
Dr. Wong will develop a customized CoolSculpting® plan that specifically targets your problem areas. The number of freezing treatments needed for a desired result depends on the amount of fat present and the area of body involved. Our patients find the treatments comfortable. No anesthesia or pain medication is needed. Many patients read, watch a movie on their laptop, chat on the phone or even sleep during CoolSculpting®.
Dr. Wong pairs Zimmer Wave® treatments with Coolsculpting® as part of the overall treatment protocol for freezing fat. This combination increases the amount of fat destroyed and tightens skin. An applicator is applied to the skin, pulsing mechanical pressure waves into the skin layers ; this increases tissue blood flow, lymphatic drainage, and stimulates collagen regeneration As a result, the collagen network is tightened, and the tissue structure of the skin becomes firmer. The Zimmer Wave® treatment is performed immediately after the Coolsculpting® treatment is completed, while fat is still frozen.
The CoolSculpting® is non-invasive, so you can typically return to work and normal activities immediately.
Over the next 1-3 months after your procedure, your body naturally processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. The fat is permanently gone as long as your weight remains stable. If you gain weight, you will make new fat.
The sooner you set up your consultation, the sooner you’ll see results in the mirror—long-term results in those areas that have resisted all efforts through diet and exercise.
Fat can be selectively frozen without injuring other tissues such as skin. Over 6-12 weeks, your body naturally processes and eliminates the dead fat cells, leaving a more lean and sculpted you.
Microdermabrasion is a painless, non-invasive procedure that gently polishes and refines the outer layer skin. A wand with a treatment tip composed of fine diamond particles is moved across the skin surface. Keratin plugs, sebum, and dead skin cells clogging pores are exfoliated. The wand has a vacuum that simultaneously suctions the acne clogging debris away while clearing and smoothing the skin surface. There is no down time with this treatment. You will notice immediate improvement in the skin texture. Your skin will feel smoother and softer. Microdermabrasion enhances the efficacy of prescription topical medications used to treat acne. It is used as an effective adjunct in treating acne.
WHAT IS HYDRAFACIAL?
A hydrafacial is a resurfacing treatment that deep cleans your pores and hydrates your skin. It is a four-step treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates the skin with serums that are infused into pores with the HydraPeel Tip.
HydraFacial treatment is safe and gentle and does not irritate the skin. It is an ideal treatment for those with sensitive skin.
WHAT DOES HYDRAFACIAL TREAT?
- Acne
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun Damage/rough texture
- Enlarged pores
- Skin laxity
- Dullness
After having a HydraFacial, the skin is left with a rosy glow. Your treatment will be customized to address your skin’s particular needs by selecting a combination of the appropriate corrective serums for infusion.
HOW DOES HYDRAFACIAL WORK?
The HydraFacial technology consists of a handheld applicator that has a spiral tip which creates a vortex effect to dislodge and remove impurities (by suctioning) while simultaneously infusing hydrating serums, antioxidant serums, peptides, and brightening agents into the skin.
HydraFacials are convenient, comfortable, and painless. There is no down time afterwards. It is typical to have mild redness and a little peeling a day or so after treatment.”
What is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Intense Pulsed light (IPL) is a medical device that emits a broad spectrum of wavelengths of light, ranging from visible light to near infrared. Filters are used to select particular wavelengths of light to target red blood vessels. Light energy is absorbed relatively more by blood filling the dilated capillaries. The light energy heats up blood vessels causing the blood inside to coagulate. Over a period of approximately 2 weeks blood vessels gradually fade.
Which Skin Conditions Can Be Treated By IPL?
Intense Pulsed Light is an effective treatment for sun damaged skin, improving skin tone, uneven pigmentation, brown spots or sunspots, generalized redness, acne rosacea, broken capillaries, and decreasing the appearance of enlarged pores.
How Many Treatments are Needed?
Typically, 5-7 treatments performed at monthly intervals are needed to see improvement. The number of treatments needed depends on how many blood vessels, the size of the red areas, the depth of blood vessels, the size of the blood vessels, the thickness of the skin in the area to be treated, and how your skin reacts to IPL. Some patients see a marked improvement in as few as 3-4 treatments; others may need 8- 12 treatments for correction.
What Does IPL Treatment Feel Like?
Most people are able to tolerate the mild discomfort without any problems. IPL feels like a “hot rubber band being snapped against the skin.” The discomfort is brief and subsides quickly. A cooling device that delivers a cold air spray onto your skin will be used during IPL treatment. After the treatment your skin will look and feel like you have a sunburn.
What Areas of the Body Can Be Treated By IPL?
IPL can effectively treat many different areas of the body. Sun damage on arms, legs, back, chest, face, neck, and the tops of hands have all been treated effectively.
A number of treatment options exist for treating excessive pigmentation: chemical peels, laser, intense pulsed light, prescription topical lightening agents, high protection UVB-UVA sunscreens, antioxidants. In general, the most effective approach to lightening unwanted pigmentation is a combination of therapies. Higher sun protection factor (SPF) sunscreens (> 30) decrease stimulation of melanin production by melanocytes in the skin. Bleaching agents inhibit the enzyme that produces pigment. Lasers, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), and chemical peels help remove cells containing pigment by sloughing away pigment containing layers of skin. Other prescription topical medications can be used to increase shedding of excess pigment containing cells and inhibit transfer of melanin from melanocytes to the cells in the more superficial layer of skin where the pigment is more noticeable.
Pigment that is more superficial is easier to remove than pigment located in the deeper layers of skin. Any therapy used will require time and patience to see results. Laser, intense pulsed light, and peels need to be done as a series of treatments to be beneficial.
Microneedling is an effective treatment for acne scars. It is a minimally invasive resurfacing procedure that uses medical grade, sterile, fine titanium needles to create microchannels in the skin. This produces a healing response in the skin, resulting in a burst of cellular growth factors being released. As a result, new, healthier collagen and elastin fibers are produced in the dermis, improving the appearance and filling in acne scars . Multiple treatments are needed for best results. It is recommended that a series of microneedling sessions be done, approximately every 6 weeks. The number of treatments needed for improvement varies, depending on one’s skin type, the body area, and the condition being treated. A topical anesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment. Redness may last anywhere from a half a day to a few days depending on the amount of correction needed. During your acne consultation with Dr. Wong, she can estimate the number of treatments you would need for improvement if it is determined that microneedling would be of benefit for you.
PRP + Microneedling
Microneedling can be combined with platelet rich plasma (PRP) infusions to boost results and healing. platelets play a pivotal role in tissue healing. Platelets release a multitude of growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factors AA, AB, BB, transforming growth factors Beta 1 and 2, vascular endothelial growth factor, insulin-like growth factor, basic-fibroblast growth factor, epidermal growth factor, and platelet factor-4. These signaling proteins are responsible for initiating cellular production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, fibronectin, proteoglycans, and blood vessels in the skin. These factors are responsible for repair and regeneration of our skin. PRP is a concentrated preparation of platelets prepared from your blood. A blood sample is collected into a special tube and spun in a centrifuge. This separates the platelets from the rest of the blood cells. The platelets are activated to release the growth factors and the activated PRP is then applied during the microneedling procedure.

Platelet rich plasma has a range of applications. It can be injected to stimulate wound healing, hair regrowth, facial rejuvenation, and help remodel scars. And best of all, it is derived from your blood and contains your own natural growth factors!
As we age, a loss of volume occurs in the face, resulting in flattening or concavity of the cheeks, appearance of jowls and wrinkles around the mouth, concavity of the temples, thinning lips, hollowing underneath the eyes, and overall deepening of skin lines. Hyaluronic acid fillers can correct this loss. The dermal layer of skin is mainly composed of collagen and hyaluronic acid. By injecting hayluronic acid into the areas where it has disappeared, one can restore the face with a natural result. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for attracting and holding water (i.e. moisture) in the skin.
Ultherapy® is the only FDA approved treatment using micro-focused ultrasound waves to lift and tighten the brow, jaw, midface, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the chest and neck. Ultherapy® targets the deeper connective tissue layers to firm and stimulate new collagen. Full results are typically seen in 4-6 months. Ultherapy® uses imaging technology in to visualize beneath the skin surface the fibromuscular foundation layer and precisely direct placement of acoustic energy into this layer. This is the same l tissue plane is surgically tightened by plastic surgeons in a face or neck lift. Ultherapy® is not equivalent to undergoing plastic surgery. It provides a non-invasive option for tightening and lifting the face and neck for those individuals who are not ready to have surgery.
This procedure is ideal for faces and necks with mild to moderate laxity. Treatment takes about 60-90 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. There is minimal to no downtime.
NO SURGERY
Unlike lasers, radio frequency, surgery, and other technologies, nonsurgical Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin through ultrasound energy with focused imaging—to target just the right amount at the right depths and the right temperature. no surgery
Laser is an effective treatment for clearing enlarged capillaries and spider veins. Laser energy causes photocoagulation of unwanted vessels, which may have developed due to chronic sun exposure, rosacea, pregnancy, surgery, or aging. Larger blood vessels and areas with many dilated capillaries generally require multiple laser treatments to clear.
