Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (APRP)

autologous Scientists have discovered that platelets play a pivotal role in tissue healing. Platelets release a multitude of growth factors such as platelet-derived growth factors AA, AB, BB, transforming growth factors Beta 1 and 2, vascular endothelial growth factor, insulin-like growth factor, basic-fibroblast growth factor, epidermal growth factor, and platelet factor-4. These signaling proteins are responsible for initiating cellular production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, fibronectin, proteoglycans, and blood vessels in the skin. These factors are responsible for repair and regeneration of our skin.

APRP is a concentrated preparation of platelets prepared from your own blood. Your blood is collected into a special tube and spun in a centrifuge. This separates the platelets from the rest of the blood cells. The platelets are activated to release the growth factors and the activated PRP is then applied or injected, depending on the treatment for which it is being used.

APRP Applications

  • Facial rejuvenation and contouring: It can be injected as tissue filler into the face and neck. Since it is derived from your own blood, there is no risk of an allergic reaction. It is the most natural tissue filler of all.
  • Fill and smooth Facial lines such as smile lines, crows’ feet, frown lines, neck lines, and wrinkling on the décolletage
  • Acne scar treatment- combining microneedling with PRP infusion is an effective way of improving depressed scars. Microneedling breaks up old scar tissue and creates micro -openings into which PRP can be dripped to stimulate healing and new collagen to fill in scars and smooth the skin surface.
  • Male or female pattern alopecia (hair loss) from hormonal/age-related causes. PRP injections into the scalp stimulate hair follicle stem cells to regrow hair.
  • Promote wound healing
